Installing door hardware the right way means routing a clean, precise lockset plate mortise and doing it without nail holes, chisel marks, or surface damage to the door. The Woodhaven Lockset Plate Jig is the fastest, most accurate door lockset mortise jig available. It clamps directly to a wood fence you supply, uses two screw-in indexing pins to center automatically on 1-3/8" and 1-3/4" thick doors, and follows a bearing-guided bit for a perfect mortise every pass.

Whether you're a trim carpenter hanging doors every day or a dedicated DIYer tackling a single project, this door hardware router jig eliminates the guesswork from lockset installation. No layout lines, no chiseling to fit — just a clean, accurate mortise ready for your lockset plate.

How It Works:

• Attach the jig to a 3/4" wood fence (you supply) using the included hardware
• Two indexing pins automatically center the mortise on 1-3/8" or 1-3/4" doors — adjust the fence for any other position
• Use a bearing-guided bit (our 8500 or 8505) or a 5/8" bushing and 1/2" bit combo (5030K + 15407) to follow the strike plate router template
• Clamps securely in place — no nail holes or surface blemishes on your door jamb

• 8570: Standard lockset plate mortise fits most residential locksets
• 8575: Larger lockset plate mortise for wider hardware
• 8581: Extended mortise for deadbolt and combination locksets
